Im am the grandson of Jack Berger, the sports cartoonist whom you featured from the Pittsburgh Press. So happy to see that his wonderful work has been recognized. I would be honored to supply his bio for you. Did you know Jack was the artist who designed the NFL Logo?

I have 3 autographs sent to me by Chief Hogsett: 1 3x5 and 2 old cartoons. I don't want to sell them, but would be happy to scan copy and e-mail to you. There is a Chief Hogsett presently on auction on e-Bay. I imagine other dealers are also selling them. He signed for me in Feb. 1991. Let me know.

Hi, My elderly father's favorite player was Chief Hogsett. Coincidentally, his name is Mel also. Would you consider selling the card or making me a copy?
Thanks, Jim

I don't have a clue without seeing the cartoon. We might be able to identify the style of the cartoonist. If you look at my page entitled "The Cartoonists" in the directory on the left, I have put sample cartoons with the biographies of each cartoonist.

have an unsigned cartoon showing branch rickey and branch jr. knocking on the door of wrigley field in chicago with a bag full of money. probably dates to 1950 when rickey left the dodgers and before he took over in pittsburgh. cartoon was purchased at auction held by rickey's daughter jane jones a few years ago. have been unable to identify the cartoonist but it was definitely published somewhere as instructions to printer are legible. any guesses?

I was looking for the year that Alan Maver produced his pen and ink drawing entitled "Raising the Ruth" for King Features Syndicate.
